That is the honest verdict of Manchester United legend turned pundit Paul Scholes.
Sanchez has struggled since his switch from Premier League rivals Arsenal in January.
The forward has netted just the once in his 10 appearances in all competitions – a rebound to a penalty he missed against Huddersfield.
Scholes has praised Jose Mourinho for backing Sanchez but admits the Chilean’s poor run is going on longer than anyone would have expected.
“You give credit to the manager for sticking with him and giving him chances,” Scholes said of Alexis Sanchez on BT Sport.
“But he must be coming to the end of his tether with him now.”
Scholes was disappointed to see Marcus Rashford play on the right wing in Manchester United‘s Champions League last-16 second-leg clash against Sevilla tonight.
Rashford scored a brace from the left against Liverpool on Saturday but was moved today to accommodate Sanchez and Jesse Lingard.
“We go back to Saturday and the Liverpool game,” he added.
“Marcus Rashford was playing on the left-hand side, absolutely outstanding, exciting, can go either way.
“And he’s been put on the right-hand side tonight so they can bring Sanchez into the team.”
