That is the opinion of legendary Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.
Sanchez joined the Red Devils from Arsenal in January in a deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the opposite direction.
But the Chilean is yet to live up to his expectations and £500,000-a-week wages.
The only goal he has scored in his 10 appearances to date was a rebound to the penalty he missed against Huddersfield last month.
But while Alexis Sanchez has been struggling, United have been in fine form after beating Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League and reaching the quarter-final of the FA Cup.
But United were knocked out of the Champions League by Sevilla tonight and Ferdinand says more attention will turn on Sanchez if results continue to take a turn for the worse.
“We expected him just to come in and hit the ground running,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
“But it hasn’t really been as plain-sailing as he would like.
“But the team are doing okay still, so he can get away with it.
“Once the team have a rocky patch and you’re playing like this, then I think the pressure and the focus would maybe be on him.”
