Conte is under pressure to get results after back-to-back defeats in the Premier League.
He has in recent weeks been at odds with the Chelsea board – most notably over transfers and their lack of public backing for the manager.
But Conte’s Blues rose to their manager’s challenge of ending a dire run of results by seeing off West Brom comfortably.
Eden Hazard opened the scoring when finishing off a neat one-two exchange with new boy Olivier Giroud.
Victor Moses got a stroke of luck to double Chelsea’s lead after the break.
And Hazard then converted his second with 19 minutes remaining.
Three points for Chelsea sees them move back above Tottenham into fourth in the Premier League, while West Brom remain rock bottom of the pile.
